Shipping Domestic & International

As a online bookstore, I currently use United States Postal Service (USPS) Media Mail option for all of my standard domestic shipping. It’s a special cost-effective shipping option that USPS provides for packages that enclose ONLY books, educational materials, sheet music, etc- hence “Media” Mail. I like to use it whenever possible to help you save more money!

Fulfillment:

2-3 business days.

All books are fulfilled and wrapped with love by me, the author illustrator herself! Please feel free to request a book signature or dedication for your order.

Delivery Time:

  • Standard Shipping - USPS Media Mail Shipping, 2 - 8 business days

  • Priority Shipping - USPS Priority Mail Shipping, 1 - 3 business days

  • International Shipping - USPS Priority Mail International Shipping, typically 6 - 10 business days, varies by destination

Shipping Costs:

  • Standard Shipping - USPS Media Mail Shipping, $3.50 - $8.00, depending on weight

  • Priority Shipping - USPS Priority Mail Shipping, $7.00 - $25.00, depending on weight

  • International Shipping - USPS Priority Mail International Shipping, typically $23.50 per book, depending on weight and destination. Pricing is automatically calculated at checkout to provide you with the best possible rate.

Ordering LOTS of books?

  • Please note that Priority Shipping is not available for orders over 6 lbs. (Aka, orders with more than 6 hardback books.) Standard Shipping, however, is available and is very cost effective- I will never charge you more than $8.00 for standard rates, regardless of how many books you order.

  • If you own a retail store and are interested in our wholesale pricing, please visit use our Wholesale Order form. Wholesale orders receive free domestic shipping, using our Standard Shipping delivery rates only.

after placing your order…

You will recieve a notification via email at these intervals:

  • Order complete / Your receipt

  • Order has been shipped!

  • Did everything arrive safely?

If you’re not signed up for the Fables & Fauna Book Club, I might contact you via email and ask if you’d like to join in exchange for a 20% refund from the order you just placed. (Since I gift a 20% discount to everyone who signs up, after all!)

What happens if my order gets damaged during shipping?

Unfortunately once your order leaves my studio, it’s out of my control, BUT… Since you were kind enough to order from me, I want to make you happy!

So as soon as you notice your damaged product, within 5 days of delivery, please email hello AT fablesandfauna DOT com and include a snapshot of what happened. I’ll take it from there and offer you some solutions- whether that means a partial refund (minor damage,) full refund (MAJOR damage,) or swapping your damaged book for a new one.

Returns and Exchanges

Domestic Return Policy:

Not satisfied? No problem. You can return your order 45 days after purchase, no questions asked.

Here are your options:

  1. Refund.

  2. Exchange.

  3. Store Credit + $5 Bonus.

Domestic Returns and exchanges Procedure:

  1. Please email me at hello AT fablesandfauna DOT com with your return/exchange request, name, and order number.

  2. I’ll email you a return shipping label that you can print out from home, free of charge.

  3. Wrap it up, send it off, and you’re done!

    • Please feel free to reuse the bubble envelope mailer that I sent your order in (if still usable). If so, use packaging tape to reseal your bubble envelope shut. Make sure to cover the original shipping label too.

    • Or, feel free to use your own packaging if that makes it easier for you. Whatever works!

    • Print out your free return shipping label, and seal it onto your package with packaging tape.

    • There’s no need to include your order slip with your return.

  4. When I receive your returned order and confirm it’s still in good condition, I’ll issue your refund / mail your exchange.

International Return Policy:

Not satisfied, and you’re already groaning at the thought of shipping something back internationally? I hear you.

That’s why, instead of of returning or exchanging your international order, I’d like you to donate it to a local library instead.

You can “return” your order 45 days after purchase, no questions asked. Just follow the procedure below:

international Returns Procedure:

  1. Please email me at hello AT fablesandfauna DOT com with your return/donation request, name, and order number.

  2. I’ll email you back, confirming that I’m aware and we both agree to the “return” terms, as long as you provide an official Proof-of-Donation Receipt.

  3. You can now donate your book to your local library in exchange for a Proof-of-Donation Receipt from the librarian.

  4. Please email me a copy, and I’ll issue your refund.

Payment Processes:

We accept all major payment methods, including: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club debit and credit cards. This website has an SSL (Secured socket layer) to protect your information and identity from hackers. On top of that, your payment is processed through Shopify, a e-commerce platform that has safely processed $82 billion+ for more than 600,000 businesses.
